Monster Spray (AKA Glade Air Infusions)

I can't take credit for this idea. I found it in a magazine somewhere, but never dreamt I would use it. Isaac has started to be scared of monsters before he goes to bed. I told him to pray to Jesus to help him feel less afraid, but this didn't seem to be as effective as Monster Spray. After a long day with this boys, I was feeling frazzled and this seemed like a quick fix for the moment.

The monster spray from the magazine involved getting a spray bottle and filling it with water and spraying it under the bed and anywhere that a monster could hide. I decided to use something I already had under the kitchen sink, Glade Air Infusions. I made a label on the computer and taped it on. I did the creative stuff a day or so later but Isaac seemed convinced that it is the same stuff. Another added benefit of using an air freshner is the nice smell under the bed, in the closet, in the hamper etc. Plus, my monster spray is guaranteed to keep monsters away all night long!

Hi I found your blog while visiting other families of HI/Deaf children's blogs.
We are the parents of 3 children, 2 who are HI/Deaf. Jared(7) is HI and wears hearing aids, he is in 1st grade in a totally oral classroom. Allison (almost 6) is deaf and got her 1st implant in Jan 2005 and her 2nd in April of this year. She is in K, also in a totally oral classrom. Jordan(almost 1) has normal hearing.
It is great to be able to meet other families in the same boat as us. Check out our blog-krullfamily5.blogspot.com I would love to add you to our list and check in from time to time.
We will be praying for the 2nd surgery, that God will guide the doctor's hands and that Isaac will have a good recovery.
Oh, I love the monster spray-will have to try that with my daughter!!

I just saw your post about wearing his CI after his surgery. I had that same concern with Allison, I had the doctor cut away the bandage on her implanted ear so we could put on the ear piece and wrapped it lightly, so the magnet would stick. It worked great and she was happy that she could hear.

Is'nt it great that God knows all about this and we can fully trust in Him.

How cute! In the past few weeks, Tayten has been asking me to close his closet doors before he goes to bed. He doesn't have the spoken language to tell me what the problem is, but he did sign 'scared' and then 'lion'. Where these kiddos come up with their ideas is beyond me!! Hope it keeps the monsters away!

Funny!
