Bi-Lateral Update for Isaac

There is a lot of talk about CHOP right now. I know that many others are affected by this recent decision CHOP has made regarding bi-lateral cochlear implants. We are affected as well. I cannot go into details because we are right in the middle of this thing. Basically, CHOP has said they are not doing bi-lateral CI surgeries right now due to a "Compliance" issue in the billing area.

Everyone who reads our blog knows that we are fighting our insurance company on behalf of Isaac to get bi-laterals approved for him. We are running into lots of issues regarding this and the recent decision of CHOP to suspend their bi-lateral program. We are working with the Let Them Hear Foundation to fight our denial with medical assistance for Isaac's second implant. I wish I could just rant and rave about how I feel, but this would undoubtedly cause problems for our case. All I can say is to quote a Veggie Tales song. (This is Isaac's favorite program right now)

"God is bigger than the boogie man. He's bigger than Godzilla and the monsters on TV. God is bigger than the boogie man and He's watching out for you and me!"

This means that God is bigger than the insurance companies and the hospitals that stop performing surgeries. God is bigger than all our problems and He's watching out for us.

Pre-School Bowling Day

The IU Pre-School is awesome! His teachers are incredible. I can't even say how much difference they have made for him in such a short time. He loves school and talks about it all the time. A few weeks ago, the pre-school had a bowling outing scheduled. We had never taken Isaac bowling before, but expected him to love it. He is such an easy-going kid with a zeal for life. He enjoys trying new things and puts his whole heart into everything he does. He is such an inspiration to me. He is just such a passionate kid! Granny and Grandpa watched Noah while Ian, Isaac and I went bowling. Isaac really enjoyed himself. He was really fascinated with the ramp that some kids used to put the ball on and roll it down. He didn't really want to push the ball between his legs because it traveled so slowly. He preferred to use the ramp to give the ball more speed. He is my little adrenaline junkie!
